My computer broke again. This is not the first time it has happened.
The last time I sent it for repair was not good. We argued with the repair shop for a while before they agreed to take it in for repair. Then we had to wait for a while. I thought the computer would be fine after that, but I didn't expect it to start acting up again.
It keeps restarting repeatedly. This is a curse I have with using computers, all of my computers have had sudden restart issues. In the past, when I used desktop computers, it was easy to fix the problem. But now that I'm in college, I can only use a laptop, and getting it repaired, even with warranty, has been quite complicated. With a desktop, if something breaks, you just replace it, it's very simple and doesn't require any interaction with people.
I bought this laptop after my exams 22 years ago. At that time, I wanted to buy a lightweight laptop or even a MacBook, but I thought I would still play a lot of games, so I decided to buy a gaming laptop. It broke within a month. It had an automatic BIOS update error. Later, they said the motherboard was broken. And this time, it's probably a similar problem. Besides that, Windows itself is very troublesome, it wants to update whenever it wants, not to mention the bloatware that comes with the laptop.
So this time, I installed Windows 10 LTSC as soon as I got the computer. But there were still problems. Although I don't think it's a software problem.
So I had to get it repaired. I went to the wrong place and ended up in a junk shop. I wanted to leave, but I couldn't get rid of him. After being taken advantage of, I was also scammed out of 100. It was quite frustrating. When I finally found the right place, I encountered more problems. He still tried to convince me to get it repaired there, but of course, I didn't agree.
So now I'm just waiting. After this year, I don't have a good impression of Asus anymore. I don't want to go to computer stores either. But I still have to make do, after all, buying another computer is not a small amount of money. This time, if I get it back, I probably won't use Windows anymore, maybe I'll dual boot a Linux distro. It's difficult for a brand to build a good reputation, but it's easy to ruin it. These repair experiences have made me very frustrated. If it breaks again in the future, I really don't want to deal with it anymore. In the future, when buying electronic products, even if it costs more, I want to buy a stable experience. Apple's products are pretty good for now. Except for the very restrictive system and some extremely dumb designs, I haven't had any major issues using them for so long. My iPad even accidentally fell from almost 2 meters high and didn't have a scratch. But I also know that if it breaks, it will be even more expensive to repair without AppleCare.
Maybe I have some curse that makes me uncomfortable with electronic products.
